Food 4 Thought KZN is currently operating in KwaZulu Natal (KZN), South Africa and is an initiative to raise funds for street children. It is a a “foodie” network aimed at bringing top restaurants and good-food lovers together, and in doing so empowering street children. Partner restaurants add a 1% to the bill (which customers can opt out of if they so desire) for Food 4 Thought KZN and 100% of this money goes directly to a street children organisation.

In KZN, the organisation that Food 4 thought KZN supports is Umthombo Street Children. It has been the catalyst to developing Umthombo’s local sustainable income and enables Umthombo to continue its pioneering work and develop it further.

Food 4 Thought KZN also holds gourmet dinners at top restaurants with guest chefs in order to raise more money for the charity. Events have been held at Cafe 1999 in Durban and Remo’s in Mount Edgcombe and in March 2013 the Oyster Box in Umhlanga Rocks will host the third gourmet dinner.

We call it “Sociable Development”
